To bed to bed...

It's bed time.  Miss A is hanging out with her big sisters reading books.

Meanwhile....

Mr. K has an ear ache and in need of some love and attention.  He is enjoying hanging out in my bed watching Thomas while some ear oil does it's work.

Hmmm.... My pillow now smells like garlic and olive oil.  Is that good or bad?

Tummy Time!

Miss A loves her tummy time.  She likes to talk to her stuffed animal and book that we prop up for her to look at.

I think her favorite part of tummy time is being in the middle of all of the action when the other little kids are playing on the floor close by.

Happy Birthday Miss J!

We celebrated Miss J's birthday this week-end.  I just love how the choices she made for her day reflect who she is in so many ways.

For her birthday breakfast she chose sausage, eggs, and baked brie.  YUM!  It is quite the sophisticated breakfast for a six year old, but then she has always been quite mature for her age.  She is also quite thoughtful; which shows in her choice to include eggs.  She does not like eggs, but she knows others do.

She asked us to take her (and the rest of the family) up to a local mountain so that she could go exploring.  Yep, she is quite the little outdoorsy adventurer!
Yes, that is snow you are seeing!
The crew cooking up our "elevensies"
Bundled up all warm and cozy with mommy, she slept through all of the adventuring.
Lunch at the cute cookie/pizza cabin about a mile from the trial.

For dinner she asked for grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup, quite the cuddly comfort food.  She is a cuddly comforter too!

For her birthday cake she chose this Vanilla Bean cake.  This is a YUMMY cake, but also quite healthy.  Miss J is our health food nut around here.

Her new love

Miss A has a new love.  Her Wubbanubs.  They are pacifiers with little stuffed animals attached to them.  They may seem silly, but they help keep the pacifier in or close to baby's mouth.  I've seen Miss A already able to get it back into her mouth (at only 2 months) just because it stays so close to her mouth when it does come out.  They are harder to lose as well since they don't roll around when they fall, and they are so big.

I ordered a Tabby Cat and a Caterpillar for her.  She likes them both.  I may get a couple more, especially once she gets mobile.

Miss A stays happier much longer, and falls asleep so sweetly now.

Happy New Year!

Normally Rob and I head to bed and wish each other "Happy New Year" in the morning when we wake up (yep, we're boring like that).  Things have been different in recent years now that the kids are getting older.  The baby was in bed by 9, the 2 and 4 year olds followed soon after.  The rest stayed up to ring in the new year.  We were planning to head to bed soon after, but playing games and visiting with the kids just seemed like too much fun to pass up.  *Earlier in the day we had enjoyed a big holiday dinner which we had put off doing at Christmas since we were camping then.

We played a couple of games of Carcassonne and enjoyed some treats.

A couple of the kids were couch potatoes.  We let them watch some Myth Busters, while we played games.

I did head to bed around 11:30 knowing that I needed to catch some sleep while I could.  Miss A would be waking me soon enough.  The others went outside to watch fire works.
